NOTICE:

To all Baroda and Village residents there could be a delay in receiving ABSENTEE VOTER BALLOTS that are supposed to be ready and available on September 24th, 2026 by mail and in person. The County is working really hard to get the proofs to the printers so that local clerks can get their programming and Absentee Voter Ballots. Once the local Clerks receive their programming and ballots the tabulators have to be tested for the ballots before issuing them. I thank you for your patience. I will make another post once I know more about the status of the ballots being delivered.

One of the delays that the County was facing was waiting on this ruling from the Supreme Court. This is just a small clipping from a notice that was published on September 14th, 2026.

On September 14, 2026 Michigan Officials on Supreme Court USPS Mail Ballot Rule Decision LANSING – Today, the U.S. Supreme Court left in place a preliminary injunction halting the mandatory implementation of a United States Postal Service (USPS) mail ballot rule for the November 2026 election. The rule, following a March 2026 Executive Order, had required states to enroll every voter who is eligible to vote by mail with USPS and tasks USPS with compiling the registered voters into state-specific lists. The rule also establishes new design requirements for state mail-in ballot envelopes, which USPS must approve. Under the rule, USPS will not deliver ballots to voters who do not appear on the USPS-generated lists and will not deliver ballots in envelopes that fail to comply with the rule’s new envelope design standards.
